Live at Thrive: Day Two

Join Brent, Joseph, and Brandon as they reflect on Day Two of @ColeHatter's Thrive Conference. This is the fifth year of Thrive, with its attendees spanning 15 countries, and it continues its focus on the for-purpose business model (helping those in need), and the Breaking Business Barriers podcast is here live in Las Vegas to take it all in. Today we're joined by our special guest Miro Wcislo on this episode. Miro has a special story about he and his family moving from Poland to the United States when he was five years old. There were difficult times but with a lot of hard work and determination, Miro is thriving and doing so with a warm heart. When he was five years old, his parents decided to move to the United States from Poland. Even though he was a child, this changed his entire life from that point on. Seeing the hardships that his parents had to face gave him a different view on life. He clearly remembers the times when his parents struggled to simply put food on their table. Even though he was a little boy, he remembers thinking to himself, “One day I will make all of my parents’ struggles worth it.” After graduating high school, he attended the University of Illinois at Chicago and majored in Accounting with Summa Cum Laude. He worked hard for what he had for as long as he can remember; even though school required a lot of work, he always kept himself busy. One can say he tried it all, he sold pizzas, he was a telemarketer selling radio advertisements, traded stocks, produced and DJ’d, and finally got his Certified Public Accountant license to work as an auditor. He got to travel, meet the most sincere and intelligent people, but most importantly, gained experience and found his passion. Here he is today, a proud owner of HodgePodge and host of Bossed 2 Boss Podcast. HodgePodge is not an average company you would assume he'd start but after learning the basics about himself and his background he found his calling. Helping other people is something that makes him whole. He strongly believes that there is no better feeling than seeing someone else’s smile, yet alone let that smile be caused by your actions. Through HodgePodge, he makes sure that a customer will be happy through the cleared space that will allow them for that next step. While listening to his podcast, Bossed 2 Boss, his listeners can gain motivation and truly learn what it is like to start something from scratch, and hopefully reassures them that anything is possible regardless of your age and experience. You can find more about Miro here at: www.bossed2boss.com Check out his show Bossed2boss on your favorite podcast platform.

Attitude is More Important Than Fact

I share a short story that was given to me by someone that I consider a mentor to this day. He told me to be sure that I kept it close because it'll be needed from time to time. Keep in mind, it was handed to me on a piece of paper well before the digital age. I managed to save it in a safe place and he was right that it would be something that I'd reference many times over. This piece of paper looks like a relic by now but it'll stay with me forever. I hope you enjoy the story about the owner of a hot dog stand and maybe you'll also believe that attitude is more important than fact. Onward & Upward

Breaking Business Barriers Ep 90 with Vijay Varma

Branding is a language that is universally understood. All companies in the world have their own identity, but very rarely are they clearly conveyed with unique elements. What a brand does for your company is emphasize its unique selling points and offer a point of reference for people to associate your business with. The field of branding is best understood by digital marketing agencies that specialize in brand management services, as they are the ones who are well-versed in the technical know-how and best practices of the industry. While many of the larger businesses already have an established brand identity, this does not mean smaller enterprises have to miss out on the entire branding scheme. With the help of brand management services, you can create a name for your business with a set budget, unlike how it used to be decades ago without the internet.
